Dashing singer-songwriter David Berkeley delivers his warm, thoughtful songs, along with a reliably hilarious line in onstage banter.
Songwriter, author and recent Santa Fe resident David Berkeley brings his full band to town for a rare local show before heading into the hills of Chupadero to record his sixth studio album. The album he and his band will record will form a companion piece for a book Berkeley is currently finishing. It’s a collection of interweaving short stories called “The Free Brontosaurus,” and he’s written a song for each tale.
The San Francisco Chronicle calls Berkeley “a musical poet,” and the New York Times writes that “Berkeley sings in a lustrous melancholy voice with shades of Tim Buckley and Nick Drake.”
David has performed with artists including Adele, Don Mclean, Billy Bragg, Ben Folds, Rufus Wainwright and Nickel Creek.
