They call it “Retro Fresh Jazz" by talented and seasoned New Mexico musicians who came together to experiment in creating new musical sounds…raw and quirky jazz with an urban retro twist.

Songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist, Busy McCarroll has been active on the New Mexico music scene for many years. Her late 1980’s band, MV2=The Motion was produced by Alphonso Johnson (bassist with Weather Report, Wayne Shorter, and so on) who said, “Busy’s voice is reminiscent of the old jazz greats like Billy Holiday.” In the 1990’s Busy worked with producer Larry Blackmon (from the multiple Grammy and Platinum award-winning funk group Cameo).

She has won numerous awards including the NMMIC’s Best Album of Year 2000 for Bar‘Bar’Ella – The BeatNik Spy Music Files. Busy was recently awarded ‘BEST SONG 2008’ by the New Mexico Music Industry for her song titled ‘Peace by Piece’ – song for Tessa.
