Santa Fe Performance Exchange
Bringing local and national musicians to Santa Fe venues

About Santa Fe Performance Exchange

The Santa Fe Performance Exchange is dedicated to providing a premier venue for live music, performing arts, community-based events and educational programs that support the arts, the artists, and promote community. Events presented in an array of venues in and around Santa Fe reflect the cultural and artistic diversity of the local community, the State of New Mexico, and the United States.

Mike’s Music Exchange was founded by Mike Engeldinger and opened in December, 2009. The focus was creating a performance space that provided an exemplary listening room, high quality performances and fair wages for artists. Over the course of 2010, Mike brought his vision to life. He created an environment that fostered a direct relationship between artists and music lovers, a greater appreciation of live music and a broader understanding of the creative process for both artists and listeners alike.

After a year operating the venue as Mike’s Music Exchange, he join a community of like minded music lovers to form the Santa Fe Performance Exchange in December, 2010.

The first performance under the SFPX banner was February 5, 2011 – a sold out show featuring Chuck Pyle. During 2011, a wide array of musical talent has performed to more than 3,000 audience members. The summer of 2011 was a critical juncture for the Exchange as we moved from presenting events in a single venue to partnering with other organizations, including several non-profits, to present artists in a variety of venues and locations in and around Santa Fe.

We have formed strong collaborative ties with such non-profit organizations as the San Miquel Mission of Santa Fe, Southwest Roots Music, GiG Performance Space, and the Legal Tender, part of the Lamy Railroad & History Museum. These collaborations are essential in maintaining our commitment to artists – local, national and international.

Our Commitment to Artists

The Exchange strives to provide environments where performers get 100% of the audience’s attention which requires a careful selection of the appropriate venue for each artist. In addition to the quality of the performances, we remain committed to our community through community building activities.
